25 Days of Cookies, day 23

As I approached the end of this 25 days of cookies, my list of cookies that the boys in this house like was coming up short, so for day 23 I tried a new cookie that was shared by a friend, Pretzel Caramel Chip Cookies.

Pretzel Caramel Chip Cookies
1/2 -cup 1(stick) butter, softened
1/4 cup + 2 Tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup + 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cup stick pretzels,broken in thirds
1/2 cup Kraft brand caramel bits
1/4 cup butterscotch chips
1/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
Using a mixer,cream butter and the sugars. Add the vanilla and egg. Mix and scrape the sides of the bowl.
In a bowl combine salt, baking soda, and flour. Gradually add to wet mixture. Mix until combined.
Add the pretzel pieces,caramel bits, and both kinds of chips. Mix together using a spatula. Use a cookie scoop or teaspoons. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or non stick cookie sheets. Bake at 350 11-12 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet and cool completely.
Recipe yields:16-20.

Pretzel Caramel Chip Cookies

This is a fun cookie to make as a change from the traditional chocolate chip cookie. The salty pretzel along with the butterscotch chip made for a nice treat.
