This week in our neck of the woods life is about preparing for winter. Yes, it is among the hottest days of the year and we prepare for the coldest. This preparation is driven by the harvesting of the many fruits and vegetables that are in season at just this time of the year.
All of this harvesting and subsequent preserving requires an investment of time, and while my hands are busy at the tasks of picking, trimming, washing, packing, processing and putting away my mind wanders. Sometimes answers to problems are worked out during this wandering time, sometimes hymns fill up all the empty places and sometimes the thoughts are just plain silly. Yesterday was one of those days.
So I am not sure if this post will be evidence for my friends and family of my humor or a warning sign that they may need to keep a closer eye on me, but as I spent my morning in the green bean patch,
My mind was filled with this song(thanks Meghan Trainor for the inspiration):
Because you know it’s all about those beans, ’bout those beans, not soy
It’s all about the beans, ’bout the beans, not lima,
It’s all about the beans, ’bout the beans, not kidney,
It’s all about the beans, ’bout the beans.
On to the peaches!
